October 2012 LDS General Conference At Hand, Prefixed By General Relief Society Meeting

Special Note: All posts on the October 2012 Semiannual General Conference can be simultaneously displayed HERE, with the most recent post appearing first.

It's that time of the year again. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that the 182nd Semiannual General Conference will convene in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City on Saturday and Sunday, October 6–7, 2012. The Saturday general sessions will be held at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.; Sunday sessions will be held at 9:30 a.m., which includes Music and the Spoken Word, and 2:00 p.m. The general priesthood meeting will be held in the Conference Center on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. All times listed are Mountain Daylight Time (MDT). Messages will be given by the First Presidency, members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and other General Authorities and general officers of the Church.

This will be prefixed by the General Relief Society Meeting to be held in the Conference Center auditorium on Saturday, September 29th, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. MDT. This will be the first Relief Society broadcast since the reorganization of the Relief Society General Presidency in spring 2012. Linda K. Burton, Relief Society general president; Carole M. Stephens, first counselor; and Linda S. Reeves, second counselor, will all speak, along with a member of the First Presidency.

Live video streaming of both broadcasts will be available at conference.lds.org in 16 languages: ASL, Cantonese, Cebuano, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, Samoan, Spanish, Tagalog, and Tongan. Live video and audio will also be available in English and Spanish at mormonchannel.org. Archives of the broadcast will be available in those same languages at the same site within 24 hours; written transcripts will be posted on the first Thursday after the event. Also see the letter on Broadcast Information for Members in Their Homes.
