According to the Salt Lake Tribune, an LDS Facebook group calling itself LDS Young Men & Women has launched a Facebook page entitled "WE LOVE YOU - President Boyd K. Packer" as part of a letter-writing campaign on behalf of President Packer. Their objective is to get people to send him 100,000 supportive letters by October 15th, 2010. The Facebook url:

This campaign has been triggered by the report that over 100,000 letters were sent to President Packer on Thursday, October 7th in protest against his talk. In addition, Human Rights Campaign collected what it says are 100,000 signatures through an online petition, and intends to deliver those signatures to the Church on Tuesday October 12th. To ensure you've been properly informed as to what he said, you can read the final text HERE.

In general, the organizers suggest that you tell him how much you love him and sustain him as a servant of the Lord and a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Tell him how much you appreciate him standing tall for traditional marriage. Please send your letters to:

Attn: President Boyd K. Packer
50 E. North Temple
Salt Lake City, Utah 84150

On the back of your letters, also write the words, "WE LOVE YOU."

Undoubtedly, President Packer is being sustained and comforted by the Holy Spirit as well as by his family and peers during this trial. But he needs our support as well. Let's not allow anti-Mormons to rule the day on this issue.
