Remember the story of Zerin Petersen? While serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Colorado Springs in 2009, he had an accident on a water slide, breaking his neck and effectively paralyzing the lower portion of his body. He was medically released from his mission and returned home to Spirit Lake, Idaho to recover; his parents pulled out all the stops to facilitate his recovery, transforming their garage into a special bedroom-bathroom combination to make it handicap-accessible to him.
Out of curiosity, I Googled his name to find out how he is currently faring. And I discovered he is busy trying to make lemonade out of the lemon he was handed in life. Petersen is currently working as an Independent Nikken Consultant. After personally experiencing the benefits of Nikken products for himself, he decided to become a consultant so he can becoming more self-sustaining and less reliant upon welfare benefits. He says he is gradually building his business, and suggests that if he can do this, anyone can follow suit.
As for his physical problems, Petersen reports he has had some movement return to his arms and upper body, and more feeling in his hands and feet. His goal is to walk again some day and he continues to work diligently towards that end. He insists that personal use of Nikken products will facilitate his body's healing. Nikken offers an impressive array of product technologies; some of the more intriguing include advanced magnetic technology, Air Wellness technology, far-infrared technology, negative-ion technology, and Kenko sleep technology. Nikken employs a holistic approach, identifying the five pillars of health as Healthy Body, Mind, Family, Society and Finances.
What's most important is that Zerin Petersen has not allowed his disability to get him down. He views it as merely another challenge in life and is determined to overcome the limitations. He appears to remain faithful to the Gospel as well. Good luck to him, and may the Lord pour out His blessings upon him.
