Although Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid is prominent and powerful, as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he's not too good to seize upon opportunities to share the Gospel when they arise. In keeping with this philosophy, Reid hosted a symposium on Mormonism held at the LDS chapel in Broomall, Pennsylvania on June 3rd, 2012. The event also included a guest speaker, Ahmad S. Corbitt, who is the director of the New York Office of Public and International Affairs for the LDS Church and the president of the Cherry Hill New Jersey Stake, and a special musical performance by Jack Livigni, a tenor at the New York Metropolitan Opera.
Topics discussed included whether Mormons believe in God and in Jesus Christ. The purpose was on bringing awareness and clarifying what the religion was about moreso than proselytization. He also talked up the new Philadelphia Temple, saying "It’s a great honor. ... For all the members of the church, it’s a great thing to be able to do the Lord’s work and enjoy the reverence that takes place in the temple." NBC10 news video embedded below:
