Elder Taylor Romney and three other LDS missionaries were driving in Midlothian, Virginia when their vehicle was suddenly broadsided by a red-light runner on January 6th, 2010. While the other three missionaries only suffered minor injuries, the 21-year-old Romney was hospitalized with serious abdominal injuries and underwent several hours of surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital after the accident. Romney's condition has been stabilized and he remains in intensive care as of this post, but is expected to recover fully and resume his education at BYU-Idaho after being honorably released from his mission.
